LIFE

Bolsover Drama Group

From 1997 until starting university in 2002 I was an active member of Bolsover Drama Group, an amateur dramatics group based in Bolsover, north Derbyshire.

On-stage:

My first appearance on stage with the group came in November 1997 in the group's youth section's production of the musical 'Big Al' at the Moorfield Hall Theatre, Bolsover School. The show was staged again in July the following year at the palace Theatre, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

Following on from Big Al, I appeared with speaking roles as Doc and Glad Hand in the 1999 youth section production of 'West Side Story' (at the Palace Theatre, Mansfield) and as Buggins in the 2001 production of 'Half a Sixpence' (at the Moorfield Hall Theatre, Bolsover).

As part of the main group, I appeared in the pantomimes 'Revenge of Abanaza' (1998, as 'Homer Simpson), 'The Sleeping Beauty' (1999, 'Newsboy'), 'Jack and the Beanstalk' (2000, 'Villager'), 'Dick Whittington and his Cat' (2001), and the musicals 'The Pajama Game' (1998, Chorus), 'Guys and Dolls' (1999, Chorus), 'South Pacific' (2000, Marine) and 'Calamity Jane' (2001, 'Indian'). Details of productions can be found below.
