With the Hull town cryer at the graduation ceremony
Between September 2002 and June 2005, I was a student at the University of Hull, studying Computer Science. I gained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with honours in the second class: first division (2:1).
Over the course of the three years I gained skills in languages such as Java and C# and in areas such as project management, graphics, etc.
During the final year, I had to undertake a forty-credit project 'Database application for a membership list and newsletter', which involved evaluating a currently employed system for data management, obtaining the specifications for a new system, designing, planning, testing and deploying the new system. The final deliverable was a Java application which interacted with a Microsoft Access database (via SQL), a Microsoft Word document and the Internet. Three reports are available here, detailing the progress of the project and outlining future possibilities for enhancements to the application.
Full details of all modules undertaken can be found below (all twenty credits unless specified)
